    Section 1

    Phase 1 — The 90-Second Qualification

    0:00 – 0:90

    1

    Greeting & Intent

    0:00 – 0:15
    Agent says

“Thank you for calling state benefits customer service, my name is [Agent Name], state license number [License #]. I see you’re calling about the state-approved final expense programs to cover funeral and burial costs — who am I speaking with today?”

Write the caller’s name down immediately and use it every 20–30 seconds.

    Agent says

“Great to speak with you, [Caller Name]. My job is simple: I compare the top state-regulated plans to make sure you get maximum coverage at the lowest rate. To see what you qualify for today, I just need to ask a few quick questions — fair enough?”

    2

    The 4 Rapid Knockout Questions

    0:15 – 0:75

Move fast. No commentary between questions — you are only confirming they fit the profile.

    1. Age (50–85)

First, how old are you currently?

    2. Decision Maker

Are you making this decision for yourself today, or is there a spouse or family member who needs to be on the line with us?

    3. Bank Account

When these plans deposit funds or set up your low monthly rate, they require a valid checking or savings account. You do have an active bank account, correct?

    4. Intent

Are you looking to cover a traditional burial, cremation, or just leave extra money behind for family?

    3

    The 80-Second Release or Pivot

    0:75 – 0:90
    Card A — Pass / Proceed

    If all 4 pass:

“Perfect, [Caller Name]. You fit the exact profile for our top-tier rate programs. Let’s look at your health details…”

    Card B — Eject Before 90s

If they fail age, bank account, or decision maker:

“I appreciate you reaching out, [Caller Name]. Based on [Reason], you don’t qualify for our direct-approval programs today. I recommend checking with your local social services office for assistance. Thank you for calling and have a great day!”

    Hang up before 1:30

    Section 2

Phase 2 — Discovery, Health Vetting & Closing

    Post-90 seconds

    Health Screening

Ask conversationally, top to bottom. A “yes” doesn’t end the call — it moves them to a guaranteed-issue or graded product.

    • Have you had a heart attack or stroke in the last 2 years?
    • Have you ever been diagnosed with or treated for cancer?
    • Do you use oxygen at home for any breathing condition?
    • Are you currently on dialysis or has a doctor recommended it?
    • Have you been diagnosed with memory loss, dementia, or Alzheimer's?
    • What medications are you taking daily, and what are they for?

    The 3-Option Pitch

    Agent says

“[Caller Name], based on your age and health, you’re approved. I’m going to give you three options — most people pick the middle one. Grab a pen.”

    Option 1

    $15,000

    Full Funeral

Covers a full traditional funeral, burial plot, headstone, and leaves money behind for the family.

    Option 2

    $10,000

    Most Popular

Standard service and burial fully covered. This is what most families in your age bracket select.

    Option 3

    $5,000

    Basic / Cremation

Covers cremation and final bills so nothing lands on your children.

Present all three, then go silent. The first person to speak after the options sets the price.

    Closing & Application Transition

    Agent says

“Which of those three feels most comfortable for your monthly budget — the fifteen, the ten, or the five?”

Once they pick, assume the sale and move straight into the application.

    Agent says

“Perfect choice, [Caller Name]. The carrier just needs to verify a few details to lock that rate in for life. I’ll walk you through it — it takes about ten minutes, there’s no medical exam, and you’ll know if you’re approved before we hang up. Let’s start with the correct spelling of your full legal name…”

    Section 3

    Speed Objection Handlers

Word-for-word responses. Say them, then keep moving.

"I just wanted a quick price / quote."

Absolutely — that's exactly what I'm doing. These are state-regulated plans, so the rate is based on your age and health, not a flat number. Give me 60 seconds of answers and I'll give you your exact locked-in monthly rate instead of a guess.

    "Can you mail me information?"

I can — but the mailer only shows generic ranges, and the rates change with your age every birthday. I already have your qualification pulled up right now. Let me read you your actual number, and if you love it we lock it; if not, no harm done.

"I need to talk to my kids / spouse first."

That makes complete sense — this is for them, after all. Here's the thing: you can't take the conversation to them without the real numbers. Let's get your exact rate and coverage in the next few minutes, then you'll have something specific to show them tonight.
